Documents that help a motor finance claim
You do not need a complete file to start. A short enquiry is enough for an initial review. If we can take the matter further, these documents usually help us assess a PCP or hire purchase claim more quickly.
Agreement and finance paperwork
The finance agreement, any credit agreement summary, and paperwork from the dealer or lender that shows the vehicle, the product (PCP or HP), and the parties. Old emails or welcome packs can be enough if the original contract is missing.
Payments and statements
Monthly statements, settlement figures, or bank records that show what you paid and when. These help us understand the history of the agreement even if you no longer have the car.
Identity and contact details
We will need to confirm who you are before we can act. A driving licence or passport and proof of address are typically requested later, not on the first form.
If you cannot find the paperwork
Start the claim anyway. Tell us the lender, the approximate dates and what you remember. We can often work from a partial record and ask you for specific items afterwards.
